It's Been A LONG Time...

I'M SIX WEEKS OLD!

Okay...Okay... I know that it's been way too long since I've made a post! I promise that I've tried, but it just has not happened! The past few weeks have been busy. Seems like eveytime I sit down to do anything, Lydia has other plans for me! Guess I should get used to it! She has her own plan for my day! Wouldn't trade it for anything though!

Lydia was six weeks old on Friday and is getting more and more alert everyday! She is just too cute! She is starting to make eye contact when you talk to her. It does not last long, but she looks in your direction. We think she is around 7 pounds and growing. She can still wear most of her preemie clothes (she is too long for some) and is finally fitting into some of her newborn outfits. They are a little big on her, but they are wearble! This past Saturday was her due date! Crazy to think that she was not even supposed to be here until then.

One day old....

Lydia on her "due date"! She's changed so much...but she still LOVES to sleep!

Our first "road trip" to Searcy was great! Lydia did such a good job being around everyone. We wondered how she would do being passed around and everything, but she was a trooper! She finally got to meet her cousin Eden, Uncle Mike and Aunt Leanne. Can't wait until they are bigger and get to play together! I'm sure they will be a handful! :)

After we got home that night...this is how she fell asleep..."no more pictures...please!" :)

On April 19th, we had our family shower for Lydia. We had planned on doing it before she was born, but she wanted to be here for the party. The shower was a HUGE blessing! We thank God for all of our family and friends. It was wonderful to visit with everyone...even though everyone really only wanted to see Lydia. She had fun at her party and was worn out when it was over!

We had revival at church last week, and we decided that we would try to go. On Sunday night, Lydia stayed awake the whole service! It was the first time that she did not pass out in the car before we left the neighborhood! She seemed to enjoy it and was very good! :) We took her to Sunday morning church for the first time this past Sunday. Again, she dids so good! Slept right through it! :) It was soo good to see everyone. We are looking forward to getting back!

4 Weeks Old!

Lydia is 4 weeks old today! I can't believe it! While it's hard to remember what life was like before her...it does not seem like she should be a month old already! She continues to grow and change daily! She is eating more and waking herself up most of the time to eat. It's been so much fun to watch her change. She is very vocal now! She has all these cute little sounds that she makes. You should hear her when she eats! WoW! I don't think we will be able to feed her if she is in "big church" with us!
She loves sleeping on Daddy

We went to the doctor on Wednesday and she is up to 6 pounds! Not sure where she is putting the weight though...maybe in her little cheeks! She is still in preemie clothes, and they are still huge on her. I thought she might be able to fit in some of her newborn clothes...but they fall right off of her. Guess she will have to wait a little bit longer to wear them. Dr. Stanford said she does not even look like a preemie anymore. He said she will probably be on the monitor until mid-June. Thankfully we have not had any scares with her breathing or heart rate. He told us to wait a few more weeks before taking her "out"...we are looking forward to being able to get out. We've gone out a few times, but mostly we stay in the car while Daddy runs into the store. Don't want to risk her getting sick and being put back in the hospital.

In her hat from Uncle Matt & Aunt Beth...she can't wait to meet them!

Bath time is getting a little better each time. Granna suggested that we put the heater in the bathroom and get it really warm and also put some water in the bottom of her tub to see if that would help. Luckily it did! Makes us not dread giving her a bath so bad! :)

We are taking our first road trip to see Granna this weekend! We are looking forward to it! Hopefully she will do well! She is looking forward to meeting more of the family! :) We'll post pictures from our trip soon!

Bath Time!

We've been telling everyone how much Lydia dislikes her bath...so we decided to take a couple of pictures so you could see for yourself! She has this pitiful cry that she does the whole time we are giving her a bath...it will really break your heart! Makes us dread even giving her a bath! Luckily they don't take too long! Hopefully her feelings about bath time will change quickly!

We've had a good week so far. Jeff has gone back to work and so far I've made it on my own! I feel like I stay busy all day...hardly any down time. But she is worth it! We miss Daddy while he is at work and look forward to him coming home everyday! :) She continues to change daily. We had a good routine down for a couple of days...and then she decided she was ready to change things up again! She is now waking herself up almost everytime hungry and ready to eat. She has started to make little noises when she is awake and it's so cute!

Little Pink Burrito!

We are so thankful that she continues to do well. We are praying that she will be able to get off her monitor and caffiene soon. God has been so good to us!
