French Fries & Lunch Dates

While we were at lunch the other day, Jack Henry got his first taste of french fries! He was eying them like crazy, and I didn't figure it would hurt anything, so I gave him a bite ...

Hmm ... What is this thing?

I guess I'll give it a try ...

Wonder if I can reach that BIG piece??

So close ...
Look at the determination on his little face!

Ahh ... Success! =)

I think one of the things I might miss most about Lydia going to school on Tuesday and Thursday are the lunch dates we get to go on with Jeff. Yes, we can still go and meet him, but there was something special about picking her up and getting to hear all about her day at school while we had lunch together. Hopefully I can keep her entertained enough she can tell Jeff all about our mornings at home (or whatever adventure we go on!)

Are they not too cute? She always wants to sit by her Daddy! She loved sharing her piece of pie with him.

Maybe one day this little guy will want to sit by my. =)

Practice Makes Perfect

Lydia wanted me to take her to soccer practice, and I was so excited!! She always wants Daddy to take her places, so I was one happy momma! I love that she's a "Daddy's Girl", but think I get jealous sometimes! ;)

Waiting on practice to start

Dribbling Drill

I love that they have devotions, prayer and learn memory verses during their practices and games!

Lydia and her new friend, Cora! They are the only girls on the team and have really hit it off. They are too cute!

 Partners

At the end of their practice, they all lined up with their ball and kicked the ball at the same time. It was so cute watching them all try to score!

Just had to throw these in ... While Lydia is a "Daddy's Girl", I am thinking Jack Henry is going to be a  "Momma's Boy" ... and I love it!

We still struggle some days to make it from his morning nap until his afternoon nap ... and this was one of those days. Luckily Jeff's mom was here so I was able to get in some good cuddle time with my baby boy. I love this time ...

Check out his bed head!!

Monday Monday

Sometimes I think Monday is the hardest day of the week. We all miss Jeff being home with us after the weekend. Today we stayed in our jammies and have had a day of playing and laundry ... Love days like this!

Sweet Kiddos

Jack Henry is EVERYWHERE now! He loves being mobile and going where ever he wants. When he spots something he wants, he gets crawling SO fast! It's so funny to watch. And of course, most of the time he is going after something he doesn't need and I think he knows it! Right now some of his favorite "no-no's" are Lydia's coloring books and crayons, my phone, cords of any type (lamps, computer, phone charger, etc), diaper changing basket, the curtains and the kitchen table and chairs.

Does he not have the sweetest smile??

She is getting so good at doing her "big girl puzzles". She is so proud of herself when she puts them together all by herself. Love seeing he so excited!

One of Jack Henry's favorite things to do is look at/play with his books. He has a HUGE box full of books just for him!

He also loves to be read to, which I love! Hope he always loves to read!

Searching for a new book to read =)

 Snack time!

I love staying home with these two and days where we can do nothing but have fun together!

Our Weekend

I just have to say ... I love my life. Yes, it's crazy and there never seems to be enough hours in the day, but I LOVE it. I love being a wife and mom and everything that comes with it. My favorite time of the week is the weekend. I love having Jeff around all day and being able to hang out with him and the kids.

Our weekend started out with Lydia's soccer game. Jack Henry and I stayed home because she had a later game (right in the middle of nap time) and it was REALLY cold! She had to be there an hour early for pictures this week and had about 30 minutes to kill before the game ... and she decided to fill that time playing tag with Cora, the other little girl on her team. Probably not the best idea. Jeff said she pooped out about half way through the game!

About to go after the ball

 Watching all the action

 Hanging out with Coach Jeff

Guess she got a little burst of energy ... check out her tongue! I am so scared she is going to bite it off!

After the game, they were giving sno-cones out to the players. Lydia and Cora hung out for a little while and enjoyed eating their's. They are too cute!

Lydia went to Pops and Reedee's house for the rest of the day and to spend the night. We missed her like crazy, but I don't think she missed us any! Well, maybe Jack Henry! ;) We enjoyed spending some more one-on-one time with Jack Henry. Saturday night we went out to eat with some of Jeff's family. I was so busy keeping Jack Henry fed, I didn't take a single picture. =( I have to start doing better at that!

Sunday was filled with church, naps, baby food making and playing!

Are they not too cute?!? Jack Henry has discovered the toys on the refrigerator and loves playing with them. I am scared to let him play by himself ... don't want him to topple over on the tile floor!

They were having a little dance party in the kitchen while I was making baby food and cookies for Lydia's soccer practice.

Big cookies are made for sharing, right?!?

 So sweet

I love these two!

So thankful for my family and for the time that we get to spend together!

Food!!

We have started feeding Jack Henry finger foods and he is LOVING it!! I love giving him new things and watching his face as he discovers the new texture and food. He makes the funniest faces and then once he tastes it, he gets down to business! =)

Eating peas with his right hand ...

And then his left hand ...

We keep trying to figure out whether he is going to be right or left handed. Guess only time will tell!

This day he had scrambled eggs and biscuit. Yumm!! Hope he enjoys breakfast for dinner as much as the rest of us do. It's almost a weekly meal at our house!

This morning after a 5 oz bottle, 4 tbsp of oatmeal with pears and some cheerios, he was still acting hungry. Jeff fixed him a piece of toast and he at the whole stinkin' piece!

After he finished he stayed busy for a little while trying to pick up the crumbs and eat them too!! Think we may have a growing boy on our hands. I am struggling to keep up with his baby food. I am hoping that as he starts to eat more "table" food, it will be a little easier!

He is doing really good at signing "more" when he wants more to eat. He's been doing it for a while now, but I finally got a good picture. When he is done, he says what sounds like "done" and he means it!

So thankful that he is such a good little eater!

Kids Night Out

Our church does a Kids Night Out every few months and we finally were able to take Lydia. She was so excited and so were we! It's so nice to be able let Lydia play with other kids and us enjoy a little time together.

I got to go on a sushi date with these two cuties!

 It was DELICIOUS!!

After dinner, we stopped by Lemon Tree and got a little treat.

Then it was time to take Jack Henry home and get him in bed before we went and picked up Lydia.

Showing off her prize she won playing Bingo!

 Love this little girl!

I looked up and she was waving her sucker in front of Jack Henry's monitor. I asked her what she was doing and she said "Showing Jack Henry my sucker I won. He is so proud of me!" =) She loves that little guy!

Crazy Week

This week has seemed CRAZY busy. I guess it started off with having a full day last Saturday and it never stopped! Small group, cleaning, laundry, school, Bible study, church, work, working out, etc! I felt like I was away from the kids too much and I missed them like crazy!! Some days I wish I could just run away, but then when I get away for an hour or so, I am ready to be back with them and all their craziness! =) Here are a few pictures from our week ...

I was cleaning Lydia's potty one night and she said "Mommy, I wish I could clean the potty." So, I handed over the brush and said "Have at it, girl!" =) Now if only she would be so excited about scrubbing the toliet when she gets a little older!

We tried out the new US Pizza in Bryant one night and Jack Henry was so excited! He was laughing so big and cracking us all up. He is so stinking cute!

After dinner, we stopped to get our first sno-cone of the year!!

As I was taking this picture the girl called out and said their sno-cones were ready ... Lydia was ready to jump up and go get it!

Won't be  long until he is trying his first sno-cone!

 Yumm!

So thankful that I am able to stay home with Lydia and Jack Henry. Some days are hard (and some are REALLY hard) but all the good makes those hard days totally worth it. They are the sweetest kids and love being able to watch them grow, learn and discover new things every day.
