PIGTAILS!!

LOOK! I've got pigtails!

Seems like I've been waiting almost 2 years for Lydia to have enough hair to have pigtails ... and she FINALLY has them! They are little bitty, but she looks adorable!

Front View

The back is a little messy ... but it works!

Love having a little girl to dress up and do pigtails and hair bows!

Still Sick

Cuddlin' with Mommy

Lydia is STILL sick, but finally on the mend! We decided on Wednesday that we needed to take her to the doctor. Her cough and nose were not getting any better. She felt awful and cried for over 2 hours that morning before her nap.

Well, after an hour at the doctor he said she had an ear infection in her right ear and bronchitis. Thankfully we got her in before the bronchitis got too bad! He put her on an antibiotic for the ear infection, cough syrup, and a steroid and inhaler for the bronchitis. The medicine seems to be helping. She's not coughing and her breathing is not as labored. Hopefully after a couple more days she'll be back to normal!

Lydia's NEW Bed!

When Lydia stayed the night @ Tim & Karen's a couple of weeks ago, she got a little wild and climbed out of her pack-n-play before she went to bed. So, Karen got her a big girl bed! She LOVED it! When she saw Dora she got so excited! Hopefully she'll do okay sleeping on it! =)

Mommy's Lil Cook

Modeling her apron she got for Christmas!

I was making some cookies for a couple in our small group that had a baby this past week ... and Lydia came in and decided to help for a few minutes! It didn't last long, but makes me look forward to the day that we can bake together! It will be so much fun!

Checking out the dough going 'round, and 'round, and 'round!

Mmmm ... They look so good!

Come on timer ... Hurry up! I want to try one!

Yumm!!

I'm going to post the recipe over on my recipe blog later. It's a new recipe that I found, and they turned out really good!

Big Girl!

We got out today and got Lydia a big girl stool for her bathroom! She was SO excited about it! I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and went to look for her ... and I found her in the bathroom with her sleeves rolled up "washing" her hands!

Love the look on her face! She was having so much fun pretending!

We are so excited she can now stand up at the sink and wash her hands and brush her teeth, but not nearly as excited as she is! We can't believe how fast she is growing! Everyday she seems to be learning new things, saying new words, and getting bigger! Wish that we could slow it down just a little bit! We are loving every minute of it though!

Sick Baby Girl

Lydia has been "sick" for almost a week now. She started running a fever on Monday night and ran a fever all day on Tuesday. She was pretty pitiful! She was very clingy and fussy. I didn't really like the fussy part, but I loved being able to hold and cuddle with her most of the day!

She discovered she could fit behind the couch ... and it has now become her new "hiding" place for her books and hairbows!

Don't her eyes look awful??

Building a castle with her blocks!

We are still battling an awful cough and a runny nose. We've been giving her some over the counter medicine and rubbing her down with Vick's Baby Rub, hoping we can stay out of the doctor's office. Hopefully she will be feeling better soon. I know that she has to be miserable!

New Baby and Fun in the Tub!

Lydia got a new bath time baby yesterday and she adores it! She loved being able to take her diaper off (and put it back on!) and having a baby to play with in the tub! She is such a little mommy to her babies! Her new thing is laying them on their tummy (face down!!) and patting their back and saying "shhh", meaning they are asleep! =)

Lydia has SO much fun in the bathtub! Jeff is normally the one to give her a bath ... their time to spend together after he is at work all day. I finally got some good pictures of her playing! Love the faces that she makes! Just thought I would share a few!

After taking showers, she now loves when water is poured on her face! She just laughs and squeals!

Holding her baby

Silly, Silly girl!

Her and Jeff have a blast!

Nothing like a freshly bathed baby! She smells so good and is so soft! =)

New Bedding and Fun With Pops and Reedee!

It's so crazy that almost 2 years ago exactly, I started this blog with pictures of Lydia's nursery! Now, I am posting pictures of her new toddler bedding! I can't believe how fast the past 2 years have gone by! When I went back to look at some of the first posts, it made me cry! I love all the fun that we have with Lydia now, but it seems like she should still be a little bitty baby! Here are a few pictures of her new bedding! I'll have to try and get one of her laying down (or sleeping!) on it!

I've had my eye on this for a while ... It's so cute!

She loved it so much, she did a little dance on it! =)

We are not ready to take the side off of her crib yet (going to keep her contained as long as we can!), but she wakes up uncovered and cold in the middle of the night, so we are hoping that having a sheet and comforter that tucks in will help her stay covered and warm! Guess we'll see! She went right to sleep when Jeff laid her down (she was so ready to lay down on it she wouldn't even let him rock her!) ... I think she really likes it!

Pops and Reedee came over for a visit today and we had so much fun with them! We always love getting to spend time with them!

Lydia and Reedee checking out Pops' coloring skills! He didn't do as well as they would have liked. Maybe if he watched a little Dora with Lydia he would know how to do it! =)

Just Another Day At The Office

They showed our house today around lunch time, so Lydia took advantage of the nice weather and a reason to get out of the house and went to meet Jeff for lunch. We went to Chik-Fil-A, one of the few places we know Lydia will eat something and had a really good time together. After we got done with lunch, we still had a little time to kill before we could come back home so we went in with Jeff for a little bit.

Daddy's little girl at Jeff's "new" desk!

Lydia got a little snack while we were there. She LOVES yogurt! She calls it "yogi" ... it's so cute! Most of the time when she asks for it she says "yogiyogiyogi"! I love to hear her say it!

Ellie went to lunch with us! She is such a sweet little girl!

She passed out on the way home from all the excitement!

Jeff is loving his new job working for Hooten Publishing, Inc. He loves football, and now he gets to be immersed in it year round! It is a lot of work, and completely different from what he was doing, but it is very rewarding. It is a great working environment and very laid back, which fits Jeff perfectly. He will be doing a little bit of everything for them ... researching and writing stories for the magazine, distributing magazines in the summer after they come out, filming and helping for the show in the fall during football season. We are both excited about this opportunity and can't wait to see what God does with it!

Crazy Bed Head!

Lydia has been waking up with some major bed head lately! Her hair is growing pretty quickly ... and I guess it's a problem we have not had in the past! There are mornings we have to stick her in the shower just to be able to get a comb through it! I love when it curls up like it did at nap time today! Just wish that it would stay that way!

WoW!

She LOVES her baby!

Little Mommy

Check out those curls in the back!

KISS!!

Christmas in January!

Lydia sitting at her little table that Dad made for her! We couldn't tear her away from it!

Since we had plan on Christmas Eve, we were not able to make to my Dad's house for "Christmas", so they came by on Sunday and brought by gifts for Lydia and us. Lydia didn't know what to think when they brought in all these presents! She didn't forget what she was supposed to do with them though!

She knew exactly what to do with the presents ... and did a GREAT job getting ALL the paper off! She was a little OCD about it ... every little piece of paper and tape had to be off of the package! Hope this isn't a sign of things to come!

A cute little gingerbread dress!

Getting another gift off of the stack!

She LOVES this little talking/singing tea pot!

Wish JoJo could have been here with us! Lydia has enjoyed eating off of her new duck plate!

She got some really yummy food to play with in her kitchen! As Jeff took each piece out of the package, she had to "taste" each and every piece! So funny! She has played with this stuff non-stop since Sunday! I love watching her with it!

Helping PawPaw open up his gift.

Mommy made a yummy hamburger and Lydia wanted to try a bite! If only she would eat one in real life!

Daddy even got in on the pretend play! (*Excuse the lack of pants ... she has discovered how to take her clothes off! Sometimes, not a good thing!!)

We had a great visit and am glad that they were able to come out to the house! Lydia of course showed off all of her toys and had a great time! Hopefully we'll be able to get together again soon.

What A Girl To Do ...

When the temperature outside is REALLY REALLY cold?!?

STAY IN WARM PJ'S ALL DAY!!

We had some REALLY cold days last week and thankfully we didn't have anything to do, so we just stayed in and tried to stay warm. I figured that Lydia's pajamas were the warmest thing that she had to wear, so she stayed in them all day long! I think she liked it! We've had a nice change of pace since Christmas ... and we have all enjoyed being able to just chill and relax! No where to be ... and really not a whole lot to do!

Concentrating really hard on setting up her castle.

She loved having daddy home to play with!

There's her face! Finally!

This little castle is the cutest thing! She loves making the princess and prince dance!

Watching "Tad" on her little DVD player while we got dressed one morning!

Little Monkey!

Building with Daddy

As you can tell, there were several days where she didn't get out of her pj's! Thankfully the temperatures have warmed up some! We are enjoying 40's and 50's this week! Feels like a heat wave after teens and 20's!
