"New" Park

Lydia and Jack Henry were SO excited when we showed up at a "new" park yesterday. Jack Henry woke up from his nap after less than an hour crying, so once I figured out he wasn't going back to sleep I figured we would make the most of our afternoon. We stopped by Sonic for some happy hour drinks and headed to the park. Wish I had a picture of Lydia's face when she saw the playground! =)

He's not quite sure about the big slide ...

 Look at those LONG legs!

Check out that crazy hair! I LOVE the craziness!

 My sweaty little boy!

 Wheee!!

Love this face that he makes!

 Crazy driver!

Sweet little monkey trying to attempt the monkey bars! I told her to use arm muscles and she said "I don't think I know where my arm muscles are." Silly girl!

Love Jack Henry in these one piece outfits. I'm going to be sad when this summer is over and he's too big for them. =(

Jeff met us at the park for a picnic and made our day!!

Jack Henry doesn't look too excited, but I promise, he was! He about jumped off the ledge at the park to run to Jeff when he saw him pull into the parking lot! He started saying "Dada! Dada! Dada!" and off he went! =)

Love making memories with these 2!

One worn out little boy ... He took a 3 hour nap and was still tired after that!

Memorial Day 2013

So thankful for all the men and women who have sacrificed their lives to protect our country. I can't imagine what it must be like to totally give up your life, just so others can have freedom. Every day I take for granted the freedoms that we have, and if it weren't for those in the military, I wouldn't be able to live the way that I do.

Our Weekend

Jeff's on deadline at work, so that means working 7 days a week and working a lot of late nights. We are really having him around during the weekends and at night. I'm so thankful that we are living closer to his office now, so he's been able to come home and eat dinner with us and play with the kids for a little bit before bed a couple of nights. They get SO excited when he comes in the door! I LOVE it!

Playing a little Wii baseball. Jack Henry hit a couple home runs!

The kids have discovered these horrendous fun little carts. They love them ... I on the other hand am not really a fan! Yes, they are cute and keeps them occupied, but they are a pain to push! Pushing around 80 pounds of kids plus groceries is a work out! Plus, I feel like I'm all over the aisles because I can hardly push it! Guess they are having fun and that's all that matters!

Saturday afternoon was a first for me ... I mowed the back yard! Made it 18 days shy of 31 years without mowing ... EVER! Guess that's what happens when you have 3 brothers and a husband that do things like that. =) I guess I passed the test ... we'll see if he lets me do it again though!

Lydia LOVES playing games! Love our one-on-one time while Jack Henry is napping when we can do stuff like this. Doesn't happen when he's awake. ;)

I tried to get some pictures of Jack Henry and Lydia in their red, white and blue for Memorial Day ... but it didn't really happen ...

This little guy is WAY too busy for pictures! =)

Michigan Road Trip

I was so excited to load up with my mom for another road trip to Michigan. We went three years ago when Brisco was born ... and this time we were going to meet this little sweetie, Elle Carol!

Is she not precious?!?

It's a LONG drive, but was totally worth it! =)

Can't believe how much Brisco has grown since we saw him last summer. We had so much fun playing trains, doing puzzles and hanging out with him.

Loved all the cuddle time we got with Elle!

While we were there, we went to this cool little place called Greenfield Village. It was the neatest place.  It felt like we were stepping back in time and I loved it!! There are all sorts of houses and buildings that had been brought in from all over the United States (Thomas Edison's laboratory, courthouse where Abraham Lincoln practiced law, etc). I told Jeff we need to make a summer trip to Michigan when the kids are older and go to this place. I know Jack Henry would LOVE it!

This is a steam engine that they have been remodeling for the past five years. It had not been on the tracks in 80 years and a few days before we went they finally got it back out. They said they will start running it again soon!

Another steam engine. These things are MASSIVE!

Matt, Brisco and Granna riding on the carousel that was made in 1913!

We got to take a spin in an authentic 1923 Model T! Brisco loved riding shot gun!

Granna, Elle, Brisco and Matt riding on the steam engine around the park. It took us on a 3 mile loop where we were able to see all of the village.

These 2 were exhausted by the time we got done and passed out on the way to the cars!

We had such a wonderful trip ... bummed because I didn't take any more pictures than I did!! Guess we were too busy! ;) Thanks Matt and Beth for letting us invade and love on your sweet babies!

Trip to the Zoo

The weather was PERFECT today for a trip to the zoo!! Can't pass up days like today in Arkansas. Never know how many you will get.

Headed out for our "Destination Unknown" trip!

Lydia was so excited when we turned the corner to the zoo. She loves going and looking at all the animals!

What a cute little penguin!

Jack Henry REALLY got into looking at the animals today! It was so cute!!

I mean, look at that face!!

Both watching the giraffes very intensely!

Up close and personal ...
Jack Henry was saying "no no no" at this point. Think he likes for the animals to keep their distance from him.

Little farmer Lydia and her buddy Jack Henry.

Flower Girl

Was trying to get their picture with the elephant in the background, but Jack Henry was trying to look at the elephant, and the elephant walked behind that tall grass. Oh well!

Headed off for our picnic!

Had so much fun with these 2. Only had a few breakdowns from Lydia, but we survived! Jack Henry was a trooper and stayed in his stroller the entire time with out fussing one bit! I was worried how I would do with both of them by myself, but we made it!

Silly girl got some cotton candy and loved eating it after our picnic!

Buckets of Love for Oklahoma

Our church was collecting "Buckets of Love" to send to the tornado victims in Oklahoma. I am so glad we were able to help fill a bucket to send. Wish there was more that we could do, but I guess every little bit helps. My heart has been hurting for all of the people there. I can not even begin to imagine what they are going through.

Stopped by HomeDepot to get our bucket. The kids loved riding in this car! It was a booger to push around the store, but they had fun, so that's all that matters!

Headed to Walmart and Target to get all of our stuff to fill the bucket. Lydia told me that we needed to buy a lot more than 2 flashlights because there were a lot more than 2 people that were hit by the tornado. =) Such a sweet girl!

Helping me fill up the bucket with all the supplies on the list.

Jack Henry trying to take everything out of the bucket we just filled! ;)

Finally got the lid on and that stopped him. =)

All filled and ready to deliver.

So glad Lydia was able to go with me to get the supplies. Pray that she will have a heart for serving and helping others in need.
