One on One

Here, Pops...use this one next!
On Saturday, Pops (Jeff's Dad) came over and spent the afternoon and evening with us. We had so much fun hanging out with him! Rita was out of town, so he got Lydia all to himself! I think he loved not having to share her! Lydia had so much fun playing with him!

Wow Pops! Look what we made!

Reading with Pops! She loves her Spot book!

Cuddle time with Pops!
Lydia was taking a nap when Pops got there, and she was so happy to see him when she woke up! She went over to him and sat in his lap for a good while. I think they both enjoyed the time together!
Come back and visit soon Pops! You can bring Reedee with you next time!

Happy Birthday PaPa T!!

Last Wednesday (I know, I'm REALLY late on this post!!) was PaPa T's (Jeff's stepdad) birthday! We celebrated on Friday night with some yummy mexican chicken casserole and I attempted to make a birthday cake! Needless to say, I need a lot of practice! I didn't put enough powdered sugar in the icing, so it was really thin and wouldn't cover like it needed to, but it worked! Luckily it tasted good! =)
Lydia had fun at the "party"! She spent a good portion of the night outside in the yard playing with PaPa T! It is his favorite place to be, and one of hers too! I didn't get any pictures, but she sure had fun!

Needs LOTS of work!!
Here are some random pictures that I thought I would throw in this post!!

One of Lydia's favorite places in the house! She loves looking outside. She is fascinated with all the construction going on outside, the trees, flowers, and birds. I love watching her take it all in! What's really cute is when she starts talking and waving to the construction workers!!

This is one of the pictures that I wished had sound! Lydia is such a little comic and has the cutest laugh! I could listen to it all day long! She gets so tickled sometimes! It's so sweet.

This pictures is for all of you who has had to listen to me "whine" about poor Lydia having no hair! It's finally coming in and very quickly! It's so cute and has some body to it! It is also coming in really blonde! Can't wait to see what it looks like when it grows out!

My brother, Matt, and sister-in-law, Beth, are in town this week and next from Michigan and we've been spending every minute we can with them! We are having a blast hanging out with them, Craig, Granna, Michael, Leanne, and Eden! Be ready for LOTS of pictures!

To Clean Or Not To Clean...

That is the question!!!
Lydia has become fixated on dusting lately. Not sure if she's seen me do it, so she wants to or what it is! But no matter why, she is adorable doing it! If she finds one of her wash clothes or pulls the kitchen towel down, she will either start cleaning the floor or dusting the furniture. The other day she went around the living room "dusting" for about 10 minutes! Here are some pictures of her cleaning frenzy!

Making sure she gets every little spot

Whew! This is hard work!

On to the entertainment center!
Now, while she loves to dust and clean the floor, she doesn't like things put up and straight! Here she is pulling EVERYTHING out of her diaper bag!

"Did I miss anything?"

Another one of her FAVORITE places to mess everything up is in my closet. For some reason she doesn't ever touch Jeff's side, but my side is another story! I don't know if it's all the shoes (she is a girl!!) or what...but she loves to string everything out! Jeff caught her in action one morning!
Can I help you??

In action...

Jeff was sweet enough to clean up the mess while I was gone to work. Such a sweetie! No matter if she's cleaning or making a mess, we love her to pieces! She is always such a joy to be around!

Our Lil Blessing

Ever since Jeff and I found out that we were going to have a baby, we started praying that we would be Godly parents and that we would raise our child to love God. One thing that we started doing long before Lydia was born, was to only listen to Christian music. Once she was born it became even more important to us that what she heard was good, clean music. I love when we are driving down the road and she starts clapping and "singing" to the music. I bought a Hillsong Kids Worship DVD the other day for church and I thought I would try it out and see how it was. Lydia LOVED it! She never pays attention to the TV, but when this DVD was playing, she danced, clapped, and was really paying attention! It was so sweet! Guess I'm going to have to buy one for her! Here are some pictures of her listening...

Check out those LONG legs!
Clapping to the music...

Okay Mom, enough pictures already!

She is just so sweet, and we love her more than we ever thought was imaginable. Our daily prayer is that God will guide and direct us as we raise her. I know that we will mess up and make mistakes, but at the end of the day, if we show God's love then all is well!
I saw this video on another blog the other day, and it made me laugh, smile, and cry! It is just so sweet and I can see Lydia doing this one day! =)

Strollin' on the Big Bridge

From the weather we've had this weekend, you would never have guessed that it was mid-July. It was PERFECT! We decided that we would get out and take Lydia down to the Big Dam Bridge. We had a great time, other than Lydia having a reaction to the sunscreen. Here are a few pictures from our night.
The bridge from I-430

Not interested in looking at the camera!

She loved looking down at the water...me, not such a big fan!

Me and Lydia lou!

Eating her snacks, and covering up her puffy eyes!

Love this man!

At the bottom of the bridge

Check out those lil eyes...so sad!
We had such a wonderful weekend! It has been nice to get a little break from the heat! Really looking forward to my brother, Matt, and his wife, Beth, coming down from Michigan next week! Can't wait to spend some time with them! Lydia can't wait to see them! =) There will be lots of pictures taken and a lot of fun had!

16 Months Old!!

We can't believe that our little girl is 16 months old already! I don't know where the time has gone! While we miss the days when we used to watch her sleep and rock and cuddle with her, we love all that we can do now! Here are some pictures of Lydia from the last couple of days...along with some of Lydia's favorite things!!

Lydia loves to play with her toys, especially her babies. I love to watch her rock and cuddle them. Every time we see a baby out, she acts like she is rocking him/her. It's so sweet! Some of her other favorites are her blocks, keyboard, purse, ball, and of course, our cell phones!

Lydia is a very happy little girl. She is hardly ever fussy and is always laughing and giggling! I love it when she does her big belly laugh. It is hilarious! She doesn't do it very often, but when she does, we try to keep her doing it!

Lydia loves to cuddle first thing in the morning and right after she wakes up from her nap! It's one of my favorite times of the day. The rest of the day she's so busy that she isn't hardly still! The above picture is where Jeff has found her the last two days when he has gotten home from work. I've been eating early because of VBS and Lydia has decided that she loves yogurt, Special K, and blueberries!! Jeff even fixed her her very own bowl Monday night for dinner!

She still loves to read her books. Seems like that is what she does most of the day. We love when she brings us books to read to her. Hopefully she will continue to love reading! I know that I have a lot of memories my mom reading to us and I hope to make new memories reading with Lydia! Some of her favorites right now are Clifford, The Ear Book, Bubbles, That's Not My Fairy, 1,2,3 and many, many more!

She is starting to make more letter sounds. She's not saying too many words yet, but seems like everyday she is babbling more and more. It's like she is trying to have a conversation with you. I love it. I feel like any day now she's going to start spouting words out! I can't wait! She has started to say "Bye Bye", but only when she wants to!

The past 16 months have been so amazing! God has blessed our lives so much through Lydia. It's amazing how someone so little can impact your life so much. We love her so much and can't wait to see what God is going to in and through her life! We pray daily that God will help us be the parents that we need to be and that God will guide and direct us as we raise her. We know that with God's help, we can do anything!

Messy Girl...Again!

Our VBS started on Sunday night, so I spent the afternoon at church helping everyone get ready...So Lydia and Jeff spent the afternoon together. He fed her dinner before they came up to the church and this is what I found on the camera when I got home!!

Whew! Look at that face...hands...and arms! Wow! Thank goodness she didn't get anything on her cute lil dress (that I didn't get a picture of =( maybe next time! )!

She LOVED it!
Can you tell?!?

Anytime that Lydia hears the dishwasher open, or one of us putting in or taking out dishes, she stops what she is doing and RUNS into the kitchen to help. She has started ducking under the silverware drawer and pulling out all the silverware. I have to rush to get all the knives out, but then let her hand me the rest. It's so sweet!

Here's a fork, Mommy!

She also likes to try to get the plates and bowls out...I don't think she's quite ready for that!

First Trip To The Pool

Saturday night we took Lydia to the pool for the first time! She loved it! Just like with the fountains, it took her a minute to figure out what she was supposed to do, but once she got in the water and got wet she took off like she owned the pool! Luckily it was not busy, so she got to play in the shallow end all by herself!

Holding Daddy's hand and checking things out!

Hmm...this feels good!!
Yea! Another fountain!
Hanging out with PaPa T
Is she loved or what?!?
"Dad, this is so much fun!"
Walking across the pool with Nena K
This is right after she fell face first in the water! She recovered well!
Yuk! Water up the nose is no fun!

I have a feeling we will be making many more trips to the pool this summer. Looks like she's going to be a little water baby! =) We are having such a fun summer so far! So many fun memories have been made already and we have so much coming up!
