Rough Week

Well, it turns out my much needed get away was even more needed than I realized. Lydia woke up Monday morning not acting like herself. I thought she was just worn out from staying up late the night before. I had to work and Jeff's mom came to watch the kids. She called me around 11 and said that Lydia was running a fever and had just been laying around all morning. =(

This was us after her nap that afternoon ... poor baby looked miserable.

I was hoping that after a good nights sleep she would feel better. Jeff left town for distribution Week 2 early Tuesday morning and she wasn't running any fever, so I felt okay leaving her again while I went and finished the paper. Well ... Karen called me about 11 and said her temperature was going up quickly. In less than 2 hours it went from 99.7 to 102.7. So, I made her an appointment to see the doctor.

Poor baby passed out in my lap while waiting on the doctor. She's NEVER done this! He took one look at her throat and immediately said she had strep. =(

Lydia and her "feel better treats" while waiting on her prescription to be filled.

This guy was a trooper through it all!

Baby girl passed out while I was taking her temperature. =(

We thought she was feeling better ... so we ventured out for some dinner and ice cream, but obviously she wasn't feeling good because she ate nothing. You know when she passes up ice cream she doesn't feel good!

But this little guy sure enjoyed eating some of her ice cream! =)

Thankfully by Saturday she was starting to feel better and started eating again. We were happy to see her feeling like herself again!

Bentonville

So excited that I got to have a little get away with my best friend. Seems like we hadn't been on a date in months and it was so nice to have a little time, just the 2 of us! I've been wanting to check out the new art museum in Bentonville, so we decided to take a little trip up. It was well worth the drive!

We decided to try out a local sushi place for dinner and it was AMAZING!!

Think we ordered a little too much!!
The service at this place was awesome. They brought out 2 different complimentary plates of sushi and also soup. I don't think we've ever had service like we had here. If we ever go back to Bentonville, we will for sure go back and eat here.

After dinner we went and watched the Travs play the Naturals. It was a perfect night to be outside watching a ball game.

Saturday morning, we got up and went to walk some of the trails at the art museum before breakfast. It was BEAUTIFUL out there and so peaceful. We saw a mommy and baby deer and were able to watch them for a while. I wish I would have brought my camera to get some better pictures. The ones from my phone didn't turn out too great.

The museum was REALLYnice. I've heard a lot about it, but had no idea just how nice it would be ... or how big! You could literally spend hours in there if you wanted.

After the museum we headed to another local burger place down town and this is what came out ... holy cow! The picture doesn't do justice ... this thing was HUGE, but it was delicious! Needless to say, I wasn't very hungry for dinner that night!
We had a great time away and know that these two had fun playing with Granna and GiGi, but we were so glad to get back to them! They are so much a part of our lives and it's almost like we don't know what to do when we aren't with them. Hah! Breaks are nice (and needed for all of us!), but we are always ready to love on our babies.

While You Were Gone ...

Not the best picture ... but this little book is a BIG deal in our house! Jeff and the guys at Hooten Publishing, Inc. put a lot of time and effort into making this amazing book. Saying that ... We are so glad when it comes out and we get Daddy back! While they are on deadline, they work a lot of late nights and then once the book comes out they do their own distribution which means traveling and Jeff being gone for several days. That was this week ...

 Go stAte!
There is also a Razorback cover, but of course, I wanted this one. Can't wait to dig into it and see what all is in there. I feel like for the past 5 months it's all I've heard about! =)

We sent Daddy off with a bag full of goodies.

Here are some pictures of our week while you were gone, Daddy!

Lydia wanted to wear her towel like you. ;)

We had a great time going to story time at the library. We read books about rockets and even made one!

This little guy got more and more adventurous every day ... He wore me out!

Jack Henry's birthday invitations came in the mail, so we worked hard getting the envelopes addressed and stuffed and put in the mail.

We had a lazy day where we spent the whole day in our pajamas. It was SO nice!

Lydia even had waffle for dinner to celebrate "PJ Day"!

To celebrate the first day of Summer, we went to Sonic for 1/2 price milkshakes. Poor Jack Henry had to sit out this time! It won't be long though ... =)

Wish you could have gone with us!

Enjoying her very first milk shake! =) I didn't hear a peep out of her on the way home. Only her taking breaths between sucks!

I watched 13 going on 30 in honor of my birthday while I blogged and enjoyed my milk shake. =)

Seems like Jack Henry is giving Lydia these looks more and more lately ... Yes, she's crazy! ;)

I enjoyed eating stuff like this for lunch and dinner and didn't have to worry about having meat cooked for you. ;) That being said, I would much rather have you home and cook meat than have you gone! ;)

We missed you SO much and can not wait to see you in the morning!! Love you!

Photo Dump

Here are some pictures from my phone ... Totally random! =)

Jeff and Lydia watching the end of the Razorbacks baseball game where they won the SEC tournament. She was so into the game ... it was adorable!

 Yumm! Lemons and oranges!

Laundry day is so much more fun with this little guy as my helper!

Lydia was so excited about the bucket of peanuts at Coltons. She couldn't eat them fast enough ... well, that is until the rolls came out. ;)

LOVE LOVE LOVE those curls! Hope that they stick around!

Ahh!! I LOVE his little smile! Lights up the whole room.

Lydia loves her little brother SO much. It's the sweetest thing!

Love these guys!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to one of the best daddies around!! I am so thankful that God blessed me with a guy that is not only an amazing husband, but also an awesome daddy. He loves spending time with the kids, even after a LONG day at work. He comes in ready to do whatever is needed ... whether it's change a diaper, entertain the kids while I finish dinner, help with dinner, laundry or baths ... the list goes on and on. He truly is amazing!

Daddy ...
A daughters first love ...
A sons first hero ...

I saw this online some where and LOVED it.

This is a little survey that Lydia filled out for Jeff. =)

Is it not the cutest? I plan on doing this every year with her (and Jack Henry when he gets older). I LOVE that she says she loves it when daddy "holds you" (me) ... she said that when she was little and I haven't heard her say it in the longest time. When she answered that question she had the sweetest little smile on her face. She loves her daddy SO much.

We met Jeff's dad, stepmom, stepsister and her fiance for dinner Sunday night. We had a good time visiting. Lydia finally warmed up and was all about her Pops!

 Daddy's Girl

Lil Miss Sassy ... We may have our hands full! ;)

She wanted her picture taken with Aunt Pammie and Reedee.

Reedee's babies =)

Birthday Party!

My family threw me a birthday party and it was SO much fun! I can't remember the last birthday party I had. Maybe when I celebrated with my family in Disney World with Mickey and Minnie ... or my 20th birthday when I was really sick, but my best friend Cassie and Jeff (who was just a "friend" then!) drove to Searcy and surprised me with balloons, soup, ice cream cake and a movie. Those are just a few that stick out in my head at the moment.

So thankful for Jeff. He always goes that extra step to make me feel special. I love him so much!

LOVE these gals! They made the party happen and it was so much fun! They are amazing and love having them to look up to as an example of what a mom, wife and friend should be. I am so blessed!

I didn't get a picture with Tim, but he worked REALLY hard on the party, too. He grilled some awesome hamburgers and hotdogs. He's a master on the grill!

Are these girls not the sweetest?!? Poor Jack Henry is totally outnumbered!

Lydia wanted her picture with Harper and Grandmother. =)

There are times I can't believe that I am married, have 2 kids and just turned 30! Where has the time gone?!? I am totally blessed wouldn't trade my life for anything in the world.

Love these girls! They sang me Happy Birthday and were DYING to dig into the cake and cupcakes!

Showing off their red lips and teeth.

Super Granna!! She's holding at least 50 pound of baby!

Love her! So glad that she was able to come down for the party!

These 2 pictures CRACK me up! We were trying to get another picture and Eden had run off, so everyone was yelling for Eden to come back ...
As you can tell, neither Eden or Jack Henry were too happy about the yelling! =)

This one turned out so cute! Granna and Gigi with all the grands ... minus Brisco! Can't wait for this summer to get some more pictures like this! (**Uncle Craig, PLEASE bring your camera!!**)

Hanging out outside ... it was a BEAUTIFUL night!

Love this sweet little guy! =)

I'm so thankful for my family! They gave up their Saturday afternoon/evening on Father's Day weekend to come and celebrate. I had so much fun and it will be a birthday that I won't forget! Love y'all!
