One Dirty Little Girl

On our way home from Searcy yesterday, we stopped at Pops and Reedee's house for a little visit! They had cooked some yummy wild turkey so we had dinner with them. It was delicious! Lydia was putting it in her mouth as fast as I could get it on her plate! I'm so thankful she is a good eater!! She will try anything and we have not really found much that she will not eat, except red spaghetti sauce. I'm not a big red sauce person...so she might be like me. Who knows!
Pops pulled out a little lawn chair for Lydia to sit in. She looked so big sitting in it! She had no trouble getting in...but had some issues getting out. She kept getting caught on the bar in the front and would go face first onto the hard wood floors! Thank goodness Pops is quick and would catch her before she did a face plant!
We had a little bit of a cool down the past few days. It's kind of sad when the low 90's is a cool down! But it sure felt nice compared to the upper 90's and low 100's and HIGH humidity! So we took advantage of a beautiful night and went outside for a little bit. Lydia is going to LOVE going over to Pops and Reedee's house. They have a bunch of land for her to run and play on.

Listening to the birds...and mocking them!
Not only will she have a lot of land to run and play on...she will also get a chance to get nice and dirty!! She had a blast playing in the garden! She did a little bit of everything...
She tried the dirt...
Posed for pictures...of course!
Threw the dirt and smeared it on her face!!
She even helped Pops pull some weeds! Such a good helper!
By the time she was done, she was one dirty sweaty girl! Before we went in to dump her in the tub, she had one more thing to do!
Try out Pops' new tractor!!
Who would have ever thought my little girl would be wearing a camo dress, have a filthy dirty face and be sitting on a tractor! =) She couldn't be any more adorable! She had so much fun and I know she will make many memories over there!

My First...

PEDICURE!!
While we were in Searcy, Lydia got her first pedicure! Mom was painting her toe nails, and Lydia was very interested. So we decided we would try to paint hers! She did okay with the first foot...but the second foot was a different story! She screamed the whole time! Luckily Mom was very quick and the results were so cute!

If you look closely, you can tell she's not very happy!

Thank goodness for distractions!

Granna, GiGi, me and Lydia having some "girl time"!

We had a wonderful weekend in Searcy! We didn't do a whole lot...except hang out with family! Of course that is always fun! We got together with a lot of mom's cousins both Friday and Saturday night! Never a dull moment! We celebrated my mom's birthday on Friday. I'm glad that we were able to be with her on her birthday!

Helping Granna with her card...of course!

Caroline, Lydia and Granna
One of Lydia's FAVORITE things is purses! Well, at "The 'G' House" she is in purse heaven!! Between the two of them, they have plenty of pruses for Lydia to look through and play with! Her favorite this time was one that is about as big as she is! She looked adorable dragging it around the house!

Check out my new purse!!

Lydia loves when we go to Searcy, because she gets to hang out with Uncle Craig! Saturday morning when she woke up, he was already eating his breakfast. He was so sweet and shared it with her!

She loves her Uncle Craig!

Can you tell she liked it?!?

We had a blast and can't wait to go back!! I think the next time we go back my brother Matt and his wife, Beth, will be here! We can hardly wait to see them!! Only a few more weeks!

The Many Faces of Lydia Frances!!

Just a couple pictures of our silly little girl! =) She's such a joy to be around...and constantly has us laughing!!

I love this last picture!! Such a typical Lydia face! =)
The basket she is holding is a "care package" that we made for Pops (Jeff's dad). We also made one for Nena K (Jeff's mom), but I didn't get a picture with her and that one. Jeff's dad had lasik surgery yesterday and his mom had a procedure done. Thought it might cheer them up a little bit! Thankfully both went well!
We have a fun weekend ahead! We are in Searcy and are going to be getting together with a lot of my mom's family tonight and tomorrow night! It will be Lydia's first time to meet most of them! I'm sure she will love the big audience to entertain!
Today is also Granna's (my mom) birthday!! So in case I don't get another post done today..."HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANNA!!!" We love you!

Wonderful Weekend!

We had such a wonderful Father's Day weekend! Friday night, Lydia took Jeff out to dinner @ Outback! She was a little fussy while we were there, I think due to the shot that she got earlier in the day, so I didn't get a good picture of her and Jeff at dinner. This was all I could get out of her!
She did however LOVE the bread they serve. She probably would have had the whole loaf if we would have let her! We would put some on the table for her and before we knew it, she was signing "please" for more! After we got home she gave Jeff his presents!
She got a little confused and picked out an outfit for her for his gift! ;)
His gag gift was a fly swatter! Now he won't be using the kitchen towels!
Lydia helped me pick out some plaid shorts and a shirt for his real gift.
We had a wedding at church on Saturday, so Pops and Reedee came over to watch Lydia for us. Of course she had a blast playing with them! One of her favorite things to do when they come over is take EVERYTHING out of Reedee's purse. She will do it for the longest time and is completely content doing it! She's such a girlie girl!
She loves when Pops gets on the floor with her!
After we got back from the wedding we cooked some fish and all the fixin's that go with it! Well, I should say Jeff and his dad fixed it all! It was YUMMY!
Lydia gobbled up the fish and french fries!
We missed Shawn, Bethany and John!!

Lydia loves her Aunt Pam!
On Sunday, we Father's Day lunch at our house! We had so much fun! Nena K and PaPa T and both of their parents came over. Lydia loves having a full house to entertain!

We are so blessed by having a wonderful family that loves and supports us. We love each of y'all so much and are so thankful for you! I tell Lydia all the time just how lucky she is to have so many people that love and care for her! I think she can tell! =)

I Love You Daddy!

Dear Daddy,
From the first time that I looked into your eyes, I knew that I was going to be a very lucky girl!! You held me and talked to me so gently! We had so much fun those first few months! You would feed me, change me, and love on me every chance you got!
As I got older, we began to have even more fun! I love cuddling up in your lap and having you read my books to me! You don't even mind when I keep bringing you the same book over and over again!

One of my favorite things to do is come visit you at lunch and go on our "lunch date"! It's so much fun! I love "working" on your computer and getting to see all your friends at work. The food is always good too!
This summer playing in the water has been a blast! I love the new swimming pool and was so happy when you got in to play with me! We've got to do it again soon!
Helping you water the flower bed was so much fun! I especially loved playing in the water. Maybe next time Mommy will put on my swim suit and I can really play! =)
I think I've got the world's best daddy!! I love you so much and can't wait for all the fun we're going to have! Hope that you had a great Father's Day! I had fun spending the entire weekend with you!
Love you lots-a-bunches,
Lydia Frances

15 Month Official Weigh-In

Today was Lydia's 15 month check-up. Here are her numbers from today!
*Weight - 23 lbs. 15 oz (67%)
*Length - 32 1/4 inches (93%)
*Head - 18 3/8 inches (72%)

Not sure how accurate her length and head measurements are. She was not too happy about the nurse "messing" with her, so she was not the easy to measure! I guess with her having to get all of the RSV shots, she is not too fond of the nurses! I probably would not be too happy if just about every time I went to the doctor I got stuck at least once! As soon as we set her up on the table, her little lips went down and out came the tears! Poor girl! It was pretty pitiful! We are thankful that all of the nurses and our doctor are so sweet! Makes going a lot easier, on us anyway!
We thought that we were going to get out of there without her getting a shot, but we were wrong. She had to get one shot today and she was not happy about it! Neither were we though! She was really cute when the doctor got done looking at her. He said bye to her and she started to laugh at him while crying. It was adorable! He said that she looked great and that she is developing right on track! We were pleased to hear that! She's growing up way too fast though! Wish that there was some way to slow her down! =)

15 Months Old!

Our baby girl turned 15 months old Sunday! Here are some things Lydia is up to:
*She LOVES to go outside! Any chance that she gets, she goes! =) If we mention the word outside she runs to the front door and wants out!
*She is sleeping so good! She goes down around 8:00 and is sleeping until around 7:30. She is still taking 2 good naps a day (both around 2 hours long) and is so happy when she wakes up!
*She still loves to read. She has started sitting in her little chair or on our couch and looks at her books for the longest time. It is so sweet! Her books also buys us a little extra time when we go out to eat. I always bring along a couple of books to entertain her when she starts getting a little rowdy!
*She loves other kids and babies! It is so sweet to watch her around them. We have a couple in our small group that have a 2 month old baby, and she is fascinated with her! She is exactly how I was when I was little. A little mommy!
*Lydia is a very good eater! She will try just about anything. We have not found too many things that she doesn't like. Some of her favorites are ravioli, turkey sandwiches, hamburgers, and sno-cones!!
*She is VERY active! If she's awake, she's doing something! I guess that is why she sleeps so well! She wears herself and her mommy out!
*She's not into TV but she loves music! Anytime music comes on she starts dancing! It's so cute to watch her dance. At first, it was just her head shaking...and then she started doing a little twist thingy...and now she's got the feet going! Adorable!!
We love her so much and she brings more joy to our lives than we ever thought possible! It's crazy how fast the past 15 months have gone by. I feel so blessed to be able to stay at home with her everyday and watch her grow and learn. I thank God everyday for providing for us and allowing me to. It seems like everyday she is learning something new. We are working on teaching her some sign language right now! It's so cute to watch her sign. So far she has learned "more", "please", and "thank you"! Can't wait to see what the next month holds for us!
