Valentine's Day Wrap Up

We had a fun little day with our valentine's. Nothing big or fancy, just a day spent together! Wish Jeff could have been home with us, but glad that we were able to spend time together at Lydia's party, eat lunch together and play after he got home from work.

We started the morning off with heart shaped waffles! =)

 Sweet little valentines

I was scared Jack Henry and I would miss Lydia's party at school, but this little love bug decided to take a short morning nap. Guess he heard me tell another mom that we would be late to the party and he didn't want any part in that! ;)

Don't even think about taking my treat away from me! ;)

We ordered Jack Henry a bath seat because he had outgrown his tub and was getting WAY too active for it. He LOVED it! Think his favorite part was having Lydia right there next to him. He hardly took his eyes off of her.

 Look at all these toys!!

The only valentine she will need for a LONG time!!

It is crazy how our Valentine's Day has changed over the past few years. We spent our night eating left over pizza, playing and bathing the kiddos, getting them in bed, washing dishes and doing laundry! I wouldn't have it any other way though!

Heart Shaped Party

Lydia had a blast at her school party today!! The decorated some CUTE little mail boxes to put all their valentines in. She loves doing stuff like that!

All smiles while eating her sugar cookie with a TON of icing and sprinkles on it!

Her little class!

Reading one of her valentines. Isn't that little mail box too cute?!?

So glad that Jeff was able to get away for a little bit and come to her party.

Putting some icing on Daddy's cookie =)

Check out all the icing on her cookies! WoW! That may be the reason that she didn't take a nap today!

Lydia's teacher, Ms. Joyce, with Jack Henry. She thinks he is too cute! He had his eye on the red kool-aid!

Taking a break from all the fun for a picture with Mommy.

Check out her stash!! Candy, candy and more candy! =) She also got the coolest heart crayons from 2 of the boys in her class and a heart shaped bird seed feeder to hang outside.

One of my little valentines!

Not sure where she learned this pose! She did it all on her own ... Granna?!? Did she learn this at your house over the weekend, too?

 LOVE her

Went in to cover up Jack Henry after he went to sleep and this is how I found him. He must have been totally worn out!! He is normally a tummy sleeper and gets MAD when he flips over onto his back in his bed. Too bad it didn't last long .. he woke up SCREAMING mad! Hopefully he will figure out that he can flip back over soon!

So thankful that we are able to go and "party" with Lydia at school. Love making memories with her.

Valentine's Day Prep

Lydia and I had a BUSY afternoon getting ready for Valentine's day while Jack Henry napped ... and of course he decided to wake up an hour early from his nap! Oh well, we got it all done! =)

First, we made cards for her teachers. She LOVES doing art projects. I will have to get a picture of the cards when she gives them to her teachers tomorrow. Glue, crepe paper, crayons ... the only thing that would make it better in her eyes would be some paint and glitter! ;)

After cards, it was time to bake some strawberry cookies.

She LOVES to help in the kitchen!

But sometimes I think that this is the only reason ... not that I can blame her! ;)

Finished product! They were delicious and I know we will be making them again! Super easy, which I love.

Next, she had to sign her Valentine cards for her friends at school. She is doing SO good at writing her name and is so meticulous about it. Love watching her concentrate!

Ta-Da! So proud of her!

Here are the bags all ready to go! For her friends, she gave them Teddy Grahams and for her teachers strawberry cookies.

Deliciousness!

"Bear Hugs for Erin"
Wish I had better handwriting ... think I need to work on that! Or by some computer program to print off labels!
And the backs of the cards, signed by her!

So excited for her party tomorrow!

"Snow" Day

We had some snow fall today and Lydia was DYING to get out and play in it. I told her as soon as we got Jack Henry down for his nap, we would go out. I am not a big fan ... just because I don't feel like I can ever get warm once I go out and get COLD. But she wanted to go, so we went! Love watching her play and giggle and run around. Makes it all worth it!

Luckily right before we went out, it started snowing pretty hard. It was beautiful coming down.

Jumping in the snow

She was asking me if we could make some snow balls to throw. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough snow to make any. =(

Look, Mommy! I caught a snow flake!

Such a silly girl!

She spent most of her time clearing off the railroad ties in the back yard. Wasn't satisfied until they were all cleared. =)

All red nosed and ready to go in!

Well, not quite ready, but while we were outside the snow changed over to sleet and freezing rain, so it was time to head inside. With our crazy Arkansas weather, you never know if it's the last snow or not. We got spoiled last year with an over abundance of snow. Lydia doesn't quite understand why there is not "big snow" to play in! For her sake, I hope we get a big one that she can play in! We'll see!

Branson Get Away

Jeff and I got away for the night and took a little trip to Branson. It was a MUCH needed break. It was rough leaving Jack Henry for the first time, but glad that we did. My mom came down and got them and whisked them away for a fun filled weekend in Searcy! I don't think either one wanted to leave when it was time to come back home!

Friday night we went out to eat and then watched a movie. It had been over a year and a half since we had seen a movie! Hah! I was worried that I would not be able to stay awake, but I did! After that we went to get coffee. It felt so weird to be able to do whatever we wanted and not have to worry about getting little ones in bed!

Taking pictures while Jeff is trying to park! =)

About to head out for a COLD day of shopping!! I think it was 15* when we headed out and the wind totally took your breath away when you went outside.

Waiting on our burgers at lunch in my new hat. I looked and looked for a winter hat (I obviously didn't look at the weather close enough to realize I needed a hat and scarf!), but couldn't find anything. I did find this hat 70% off, so I got it! It helped a little ... but excited to wear it this spring and summer!

Making Jeff pause for a picture before eating his burger. He thinks I am a little obsessive with the pictures ... maybe he's right?!?

After a stop at The Bass Pro Shop, we headed home to our babies.

We had a great time, but were ready to see our little ones!

Finally back together again! We both survived our first night away from each other. Thankfully he slept pretty good for Granna.

This is what Lydia wore to go see Grandmother earlier in the day. I forgot to send a coat and hat with her ... Oops!

Love this sweet girl! Not sure what Granna and GiGi did with her ... but we came home and she was walking in high heels and singing Madonna's new song! Guess her halftime show at the SuperBowl had an influence on her! Mom said they were fixing dinner Friday night and she heard Lydia start saying "L-U-V, Madonna!" Super cute to hear her say it ... but scary that she picked it up after hearing it ONE time! =0

He LOVES his Daddy! He calls for him all the time. =)

Think Daddy missed them as much as I did! =)

We had so much fun getting away together and I know that the kids had a blast playing in Searcy. So thankful for a family that wants to spend time with our kids and watches them so we can have some time together.

A Little of This ... A Little of That

Here are a few random pictures from last week ... Totally random!

I ventured out to the library with both kids by myself for the second time. Thankfully, this time was better than last! It's hard to squeeze in getting out and going during Jack Henry's awake time, but Lydia loves going, so I try! Hopefully it will get a little easier once he is taking 2 naps instead of 3.

Jack Henry rode in the stroller like a big boy! This was his first time to sit in the front like this. Not really sure what I think about it ... he is growing up way too fast.

Hanging out while sis was playing on the computer.

We have been doing random Valentine's treats for the kids this month. Lydia got yummy gold fish this day! She loves waking up to a surprise after her nap.

Love her!

Best friends

Little sweetie

Lydia has actually been letting Jack Henry play with her laptop! He thinks it's the coolest thing! Hah! Guess we need to get him his own! =)
