Another month has gone by ... and our baby boy is turning more and more into a big boy every day. It's crazy! Seems like every day that goes by his face gets a little less chubby, his hair grows a little longer, and that baby belly is getting smaller and smaller. =( It's crazy how fast they grow up and how quickly they change. Doesn't seem fair, but I'm trying to cherish every minute and take it all in! Even the days when he drives me crazy getting into everything!
LOVE this sweet face!
I couldn't resist keeping this picture!! He was being such a little ham one morning in front of the Christmas tree! I had just put Vaseline on his little chapped cheeks, which made the picture even funnier. He keeps us laughing!
He loves playing with his trucks and trains. I love just sitting back and watching him play on his own. Monday and Wednesday mornings when Lydia is at school he is so fun to watch. He is a lot calmer when she's not there to chase after and keep up with. He sure does miss her when she's gone though.
He has started "reading" out loud and it's the cutest thing ever! He really gets into the books. He makes you believe he knows what he's saying/reading! Love that he's starting to sit still a little longer and actually listen to a book. Love reading to my kiddos.
We have officially started the process of attempting to drop his morning nap. Some days he naps ... some days he plays. He's still waking up by 6:30, so it makes for a LONG morning. I am hoping once he drops it totally, he will sleep in a little later. But, if he's like Lydia, it's not likely to happen. =(
We made it almost 17 months without any major boo boos ... and his first one was a doozy! We think he fell and hit the corner of the door, but we aren't sure. It popped out in about 30 seconds though and scared me! Thankfully Jeff was here so I didn't freak out too much and it popped out, which is always a good sign. Everyone said it was the first of many, and they were right! 5 days later I smacked the middle of his head right into the door frame and a couple days after that he fell and hit the other side of his forehead. He's keeping me on my toes!
This little guy LOVES going into Lydia's room and getting into anything and everything. I was in the kitchen doing some stuff the other day and noticed he was being awfully quiet. I thought he was in the playroom, but when I went to find him, he was in the floor of Lydia's room and had strung out Barbies and Barbie clothes. He was so proud of himself. =)
He's not eating as well as he was, which makes me sad and makes meal times a little more stressful. Hopefully he won't be as picky as Lydia is! He still loves fruits and veggies, which is awesome. Getting him to eat meat is not so easy. One day he'll eat something, and the next day he won't. Guess it could be worse!
I fixed spaghetti for the first time the other night and took a before picture because I just knew he was going to make a HUGE mess (if he ate it). So ...
Here is the before picture ...
He surprised me and ate almost his whole plate with his fork (which is he is still obsessed with!)! Look how hard he's trying!
And after! Can you believe how clean he is?!? It was bath night and I had every intention of having to take him straight from the table to the bath, but I was WRONG!
I love this little guy and I am so thankful for him. He brightens every day with his sweet smile and laugh. I love watching him learn new things every day and discover the world around him.
