Life

Life has been wild and crazy lately. Jeff worked a crazy amount of hours leading up to their big banquet and awards show ... which meant I spent a crazy amount of time being mom and dad to our kiddos. We all survived (barely) and were SO happy when Jeff was back home with us! We were all missing him.

Little crafter ... She LOVES doing crafts and making cards. She made a list of about 20 people she wanted to make Christmas cards for. Such a sweet little girl.

She loves opening a Christmas book each night to read before bed.

Sending Daddy a "night night" picture.

Jeff and I after the banquet ... Can you tell we are both a little tired?!?

Our good morning picture while they were having a sleepover at Mimi's house.

Since Jeff is off, Lydia is able to stay for Lunch Box Kids after school is out. She was SO excited to be staying and has had a blast!

Jack Henry's new tool bench! Is it not the cutest?

He didn't know what to think when he woke up from his nap and this was in Granna's sunroom!

Is this really mine?!?

We LOVED getting to spend some time with Craig and Tiffany over the weekend. So proud of Craig and his HUGE accomplishment of graduating with his masters while working full time and adjusting to living in a new city and married life.

Stay tuned for the beginning of "Christmas Craziness"!!

17 Months Old

Another month has gone by ... and our baby boy is turning more and more into a big boy every day. It's crazy! Seems like every day that goes by his face gets a little less chubby, his hair grows a little longer, and that baby belly is getting smaller and smaller. =( It's crazy how fast they grow up and how quickly they change. Doesn't seem fair, but I'm trying to cherish every minute and take it all in! Even the days when he drives me crazy getting into everything!

LOVE this sweet face!

I couldn't resist keeping this picture!! He was being such a little ham one morning in front of the Christmas tree! I had just put Vaseline on his little chapped cheeks, which made the picture even funnier. He keeps us laughing!

He loves playing with his trucks and trains. I love just sitting back and watching him play on his own. Monday and Wednesday mornings when Lydia is at school he is so fun to watch. He is a lot calmer when she's not there to chase after and keep up with. He sure does miss her when she's gone though.

He has started "reading" out loud and it's the cutest thing ever! He really gets into the books. He makes you believe he knows what he's saying/reading! Love that he's starting to sit still a little longer and actually listen to a book. Love reading to my kiddos.

We have officially started the process of attempting to drop his morning nap. Some days he naps ... some days he plays. He's still waking up by 6:30, so it makes for a LONG morning. I am hoping once he drops it totally, he will sleep in a little later. But, if he's like Lydia, it's not likely to happen. =(

We made it almost 17 months without any major boo boos ... and his first one was a doozy! We think he fell and hit the corner of the door, but we aren't sure. It popped out in about 30 seconds though and scared me! Thankfully Jeff was here so I didn't freak out too much and it popped out, which is always a good sign. Everyone said it was the first of many, and they were right! 5 days later I smacked the middle of his head right into the door frame and a couple days after that he fell and hit the other side of his forehead. He's keeping me on my toes!

This little guy LOVES going into Lydia's room and getting into anything and everything. I was in the kitchen doing some stuff the other day and noticed he was being awfully quiet. I thought he was in the playroom, but when I went to find him, he was in the floor of Lydia's room and had strung out Barbies and Barbie clothes. He was so proud of himself. =)

He's not eating as well as he was, which makes me sad and makes meal times a little more stressful. Hopefully he won't be as picky as Lydia is! He still loves fruits and veggies, which is awesome. Getting him to eat meat is not so easy. One day he'll eat something, and the next day he won't. Guess it could be worse!

I fixed spaghetti for the first time the other night and took a before picture because I just knew he was going to make a HUGE mess (if he ate it). So ...

Here is the before picture ...

He surprised me and ate almost his whole plate with his fork (which is he is still obsessed with!)! Look how hard he's trying!

And after! Can you believe how clean he is?!? It was bath night and I had every intention of having to take him straight from the table to the bath, but I was WRONG!

I love this little guy and I am so thankful for him. He brightens every day with his sweet smile and laugh. I love watching him learn new things every day and discover the world around him.

Christmas Parade and a Football Game

We had a fun-filled Saturday!! Jeff and I headed to Jonesboro to watch ASU play in the SunBelt Championship game. Mimi came over to watch the kids for us and Papa took Lydia to be in the Little Rock Christmas parade!

One excited little girl waiting on Papa to come and pick her up!

She loves her Papa! Think they both had a good time. She was so cute telling us all about it the next morning at breakfast. Two things she didn't like was they had to go SLOW and it wasn't long enough, but other than that she LOVED it!

Fun morning with Mimi + Riding in the parade with Papa + Dinner at Chick Fil A= One tired little girl!

Jeff and I had a GREAT time at the football game. We were able to see some friends from college before the game, which is always fun. The weather was perfect and the game was amazing!!

ASU shut out Middle Tennessee to win back to back SunBelt Championships! It was so fun to be there and be a part of it all. The atmosphere couldn't have been any better. It's been fun to see changes over the last few years up there.

Holding up the SunBelt trophy! So proud of the team and all they've accomplished this year. They overcame a lot and had an amazing season. We got some crummy news today that Gus Malzahn is going to be the new head coach at Auburn. Really bummed about it. Didn't see it coming, but know that there is someone out there that can pick up where he left off and continue taking this team to the next level!

We are headed to Mobile for the GoDaddy.com bowl in January! Excited that they made it to a bowl game 2 years in a row and hoping to go down there and see them win!

Little Visit with Santa

I decided last minute Friday afternoon to take the kids to see Santa at a local elementary school (actually the school Lydia will go to next year ... crazy =/). Jeff had to shoot a ball game, so I was flying solo!

Best I could get before we left!

We met my brother, sister-in-law and nieces there, which was fun. When we walked in and saw the line I got real nervous! It was LONG and I knew we were in for a long wait. Luckily they had some fun stuff for the girls to do to keep them occupied for a few minutes.

Eating cookies and writing a letter to Santa.

 Dear Santa,
Scooter
Puzzle
Books
Love, Lydia

 Love these sweet girls!

Mailing off her to the North Pole!

The girls did great standing in line and Jack Henry was a trooper. I decided against bringing in his stroller and once I got in, I wished I hadn't! Holding him for an hour about killed me! My arm was feeling it the next day!

When it was time for pictures ... finally ... Lydia froze up on me! After all that waiting and her BEGGING to see Santa! Thankfully I finally got her up there, but you can tell she's not real sure about the whole thing. =) I think the only reason I got her up there was because I told her Mrs. Claus would have candy. ;)

Are they not the sweetest Santa and Mrs. Claus?!? LOVE them!

Glad we got a picture of the 2 girls together. =)

As you can see ... Jack Henry wanted NOTHING to do with Santa or Mrs. Claus. He had a death grip on me like I've never felt before. There was NO getting him off of me. He wouldn't even let me sit down next to them. Oh well, maybe next year. =)

Visitor from the North Pole & Breakfast

 He's BACK!!

And he brought some yummy treats ... Reindeer and Snowman Donuts!

Lydia was so excited when she discovered Elfie this morning! And even more excited to see what was in his red box!

"Hey! What's all this elf excitement about?!?"

Lydia reading her letter Elfie wrote her. =)

 Showing off Rudolph =)

This kid CRACKS ME UP! He was shoving his donut bites in his mouth so fast and I told him to chew and this is the face I got! Nice, huh?!? Never a dull moment with him around.

Not quite as excited about his letter from Elfie!

So excited to celebrate the Christmas season with these 2. Hoping we can keep Christ as our focus, make a lot of memories and have tons of fun!

Fall Fun

Just a few pictures that my sister-in-law Leanne took while we were in Searcy ...
