Spring Break 2013

Spring Break was busy trying get settled in our house and trying to stay warm and dry!! Not a whole lot of excitement, but it was fun to have a low key week!

Loved getting to spend some extra time with this little cutie. She really missed being at school with Mrs. Helen and her friends, but she loved getting to play with Jack Henry NONSTOP! =)

One of Jack Henry's favorite spots in our new house ... the double window in our living room. He loves making it into rail road tracks or a road for his cars and trucks. It's so sweet!

 This kid cracks me up!

Lydia had PLENTY of opportunities to wear her new raincoat and boots over spring break! She got a ton of compliments on them when she wore them out. =)

 My sweeties

Jack Henry swiped my smoothie one night at dinner. =)

Since Lydia turned five, she was able to get her very own library card! She was so proud of it!

We ventured out one afternoon for a chilly walk. We can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can get out and explore our new neighborhood some more. It is perfect for riding bikes, walking and running!

Lydia and Daisy fast asleep ...

Jack Henry got some reading time in one morning while we were running errands. =)

 Love cuddling this little guy!

Lydia with her new favorite book from the library. This was one of my favorites when I was younger. Love reading it with her now!

Jeff got our new bar stools put together Friday night and the kids loved having their snack at the bar. Jack Henry felt like such a big kid! =)

Happy St. Patty's Day

No pinching these 2, thanks to Mimi and Papa! =)

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!!

Family Birthday Party

With all the moving craziness and Lydia being gone, we didn't get to open presents with her until after her soccer game on Saturday. Personally, I think she liked extending it out! She didn't seem to mind one bit. =)

She loved getting more mail from another one of her great grandmothers!

She also loved getting her very own Barbies! She got one for Christmas, but other than that she's been playing with my Barbies that are 25 years old ... or older! Antiques!

She was also excited about her package from Howl at ASU. She got a cool pencil pouch filled with pencils, an eraser and ruler. She couldn't get over Howl knowing when her birthday was. ;)

Check out this horse she got from Pops and Reedee!! Being the horse lover that she is, she was very excited about this!

Saturday night, we had family over to celebrate Lydia's and Jeff's birthday. We even celebrated Eden's birthday! It was a FUN night!

Can't believe these 2 girls are five. Doesn't seem like it was that long ago we made a flying trip to Nashville for Eden's big arrival! And then just a few days later, Lydia made her big arrival. Time has FLOWN by!

 Birthday cake and cookies

 MONEY!!

 How cute are they?!?

Opening their new raincoats and boots from Granna and Gigi!

As you can see, Lydia was a fan of the rain boots! Surprised we ever got them off of her. =)

Loving her musical jewelry box from PawPaw and Nana. Thankfully I thought to put it up on top of her armoire before bed that night because she woke up at 6:20 the next morning wanting her music box down! ARGH!

Opening up her doll and outfits from Mimi and PaPa. Her doll goes with her horse and it so cute! Didn't get a picture of her at the party with it though.

Jack Henry scored some "UnBirthday Presents" as well! Lucky dude!

After presents it was time for CAKE!!

There's that "happy birthday face" again! Cracks me up!

 Check out those cheeks!!

We had so much fun celebrating with family. So glad they all came out. Wish I would have got more pictures of everyone, but it just didn't happen! We are blessed with such wonderful family!

Lydia's 5th Birthday

Lydia's actual birthday was almost as crazy as the day she was born! ;) When we found out that we were closing the day before her birthday, I was a little anxious about her birthday being so wild and crazy. I felt guilty because we wouldn't get to make the day all about her. =( Thankfully she didn't seem to mind one bit. It helped my guilt a little!

She was so happy to wake up to balloons and streamers on her door! (Jack Henry was, too!) She claims even though she was expecting them that she was "so surprised!"!

Our sweet FIVE year old!!

Family picture before heading out for her breakfast treat. Also, our last family picture in our house! Crazy!!

She of course wanted donuts for her birthday ... so off we went to Dunkin Donuts. Thankfully our parents held down the fort while we were gone!

We brought along one of Lydia's presents for her to open while we were there ...

A Doc McStuffin's DVD! She was so excited!

Mimi even brought over a little gift for her to open later on in the morning.

She got some fun mail on her birthday from Grandmother. She was so excited about her "dollars" and could not wait to add them to her collection. That girl has been holding out on us! She even offered to buy everyone a drink at Sonic! Such a sweetie! ;)

Her birthday ended with her going with Pops and Reedee for the weekend and Jack Henry going with Mimi and PaPa for the night. That left us dealing with this mess ...

Hah! What a fun birthday celebration, huh?!?

5th Birthday Eve

I almost think Lydia was more excited about her "birthday eve" than she was her actual birthday! Since she wasn't going to be in school on her actual birthday, they celebrated the day before and she could not wait! Every time they celebrated someone's birthday, she would come home telling me about it and asking when she could celebrate hers. =) When she brought home the March calendar the countdown began!
She ran to the calendar first thing and said "Yay!! It's Wednesday! My birthday celebration!" (She is big on the word "celebrate" this year.)

Jack Henry sat on the floor when I was taking Lydia's picture and said "Cheese", but of course when I went to take his picture he wouldn't smile. =) Little stinker!

So excited about her birthday snack! Yummy princess sugar cookies, grapes and apples. She told me she wanted grapes AND apples because they are healthy and she wanted her friends to be healthy. ;)

I wasn't able to be at her party at school because we had someone coming to the house to do some work, but Lydia's sweet teacher took pictures and sent them to me. Made my day!

 Praying before their snack.

Lydia and Sophie

Lydia loves all these kids! She's going to miss them when school is over. =(

Posing after school with her birthday bracelet and sticker. =)

One last picture as a four year old!

We didn't get a picture before Jack Henry went to bed, but here we are just hours away from having a 5 year old. ;)

The very last picture of her ... I couldn't resist! Doesn't seem like she should be turning five, but she is! Wish we could slow down time just a little bit!

Birthday door waiting for the birthday girl to wake up. =)

I hadn't planned on decorating her door because her birthday eve was also the last night in our house, (more on that in a later post!) but she brought it up a couple days earlier, so I figured I might as well! Why not add a little more craziness to our night. ;)
