Lydia's 3rd birthday did not go as planned ... We had to make another trip to the doctor because she was getting worse. =( She finished her round of antibiotics for her ear infection last Monday and Tuesday morning she woke up with a runny nose and it got worse as the week went on. We had her party as planned on Saturday, but things went down hill from there. By Sunday night she was hoarse with a horrible runny nose, gunky eyes and complaining with her ear hurting. I called and talked to a nurse and she said they wanted to see her since her ear was bothering her. =( No way to spend your birthday!
We did however start the morning off with a birthday waffle, complete with butter, syrup, sprinkles and of course candles!
After a VERY lazy morning of laying on the couch and doing a lot of cuddling, it was time for some birthday lunch!
Her favorite, peanut butter and jelly, cut out like cupcakes!! Can you tell how bad she feels??
After nap, it was time to go to the doctor! Thankfully she took a wonderful nap and was in a really good mood!
Look at that sweet smile! Melts my heart!
So thankful when we get a room with a window facing the interstate. She loves watching the cars and trucks go by.
Of course she also played with her reader! She is loving her new Dora book she got for her birthday.
The doctor said that her ear still had fluid behind it (looks like the first round of antibiotics didn't totally clear it up) and her lymph nodes in her throat were really swollen. So ... she is on another round of a stronger antibiotic and we are hoping that it helps her feel better quickly!
One of Lydia's favorite thing about going to the doctor is getting a "stick"! She loves these grape flavored tongue depressors! When she got it she looked at the doctor and said "I feel all better now!" It was adorable!
We played a little Uno Moo (another favorite from her birthday!) while we waited on Daddy to get home from work. She whooped me in one round ... I had 7 animals left! Yikes! I think she won 3 out of the 4 games we played!
After dinner and a LONG wait for her medicine, we made it home for a birthday cupcake ... or in Lydia's words "a cucape"!
More candles! She's getting really good at blowing them out!

So thankful for Lydia and all the joy she has brought into our life. She has kept us on our toes from the moment she was born! Crazy to think back and remember just how tiny she was when she was born ... a little miracle! It's been awesome to see God's hand on her life since the very beginning and know that He will always be there for her. I pray that she will always feel God's love and know that Daddy and I love her more than words can ever say.
