Warning ... Long post ... with lots of details! Just wanted to be able to look back and remember how potty training went! =)
We started potty training Lydia last Monday (August 2nd) and she has done wonderful! I've really been dreading it, because I tried back in May and it was awful. Lots of tears and just no fun @ all! I'm glad I decided to stop and wait ... because this time she was ready!
We had been telling her that once we finished her last pack of diapers that it was time for "big girl panties" ... so the last few days of diapers we told her every diaper change that her diapers were almost gone. When she woke up Monday morning I asked her what today was and she said "Big Girl Panties Day!"!!
On Day #1 she only had 2 accidents and that was just because she couldn't get her panties down fast enough! She was @ the potty, so that was good in my book! She did SO great! She loved getting M&M's for staying dry and going potty. She also loved picking out a prize out of the box!
Love that lil face!!
Day #2 was also great! Only 1 teeny tiny accident and she stayed dry the rest of the day! She even went poo poo on the potty, but it hasn't happened since then! Day #3 was probably the worst day we had. Not sure if the newness had worn off or what, but we survived! Hah! It was a very tiring day, but she woke up the next day ready to go again!
Day #4 and 5 we had NO ACCIDENTS!
Day #6 she did great even though we not home. Only 1 small accident ... but other than that great!! Day #7 was Sunday and we decided to put a pull-up on her @ church since she had not used a "big potty" yet. She had 1 accident, but other than that stayed dry!
"Yay!!"
It was an exhausting week ... by the time the weekend got here I was WORN out, but it was also so rewarding!
We are so proud of what a big girl Lydia is getting to be! I can't believe that we are paci free and using the potty already! Seems like she should still be a little bitty baby! We have decided to use pull-ups @ nap and night since she's still in a crib and can't get out of bed if she needed to. We are still working on trying to get her to go poo poo on the potty ... right now she seems to be going every day @ nap. =( She picked out a Kai-Lan doll @ Target for a prize ... so she's just waiting in the box for her! Hopefully it will motivate her! We are hoping that she continues to do well and eventually she can be pull-up free!

hey! i've read a blog before where a girl's kid was pooping at naptime in the pullup - he did this everyday til he was over 3 - and her husband got brave and just took the pullup off and put him in undies. he never did it again! i guess it's worth a shot if she keeps doing it....it'd be gross if she did it anyway though - lol
